Portugal Travel Guide Map is my favorite trip map. It has the city, land, and area to guide me on. It also has a wealth of information about travel, airline, and travel agent websites. It is my favorite travel map, but it’s a bit of a waste of time.
As a travel agent, it’s not enough to simply tell you how to go from one place to another. We’ve tried to provide the best travel advice to our clients, but sometimes we end up being wrong.
While it doesn’t directly address that issue, it does address a big one for me. When I’m traveling, I have to be able to figure out where to go and what to see. Its not good enough for me to just type in my destination, but I have to know what to do in my destination area. So I make it a point to look for places to stay and what to do in those places. Its not always easy, but it gets me out of my own way.
One of the biggest problems with taking a job is that you end up not knowing where to go. I can go to a nice restaurant and end up having to ask the waiter for directions to the right place, but that sounds boring and awkward. What if I need to find a place to stay or what I need to do in a specific hotel or tourist spot? I can go to a website, but that’s still not the same as knowing where to stay.
So I ended up with a big map of the entire world, but it doesn’t tell me where I am. I had to ask each and every hotel what I was supposed to do in that hotel. Some of the things I checked in on those websites were for the night, others for a specific room type, and some of them were for specific cities. I ended up with a map full of random places that I know are places I’ve never been to.
It’s like a giant online shopping list, where you have to figure out what stuff you need to buy. When I was in Portugal last winter, I spent a lot of time asking other people I know who are staying at the same hotels what they thought they were supposed to do in certain places. The best advice I got was to try and get your hotel to update the map and give you the ability to see where everything is, so you can figure out the best way to get around.
That, and the fact that the Portuguese can speak English and French so it’s not like this is some kind of secret language that only they know. You can visit the capitals of Lisbon and Porto, and the historic towns of Coimbra and Peniche. And it is just a shame that the online travel guides are so limited.
I do the same thing when I travel. I have a book on “Travel In New York” in the back of my hotel room that I read and I have an instant access to all the travel information on the computer. That is my main purpose, and I am not able to access it in the next few days so I am running offline when I get home, and I have to go back and turn off the computer before I can read it.
Yes, it’s that bad. But the reality is that there are websites, in fact there are a lot of sites that have guides to Portugal. There are many different travel guides, I have yet to find a single one that is comprehensive. In fact, I have found that these guides are so short that it’s almost like they are not even there.
So, you’re probably thinking, “How do I read these online?” Well, there are a couple of different ways.
