The big difference though, is that the app is very user-friendly and fast, and you have to be at your own pace to get it going.
I think with the app, and the fact that it requires you to be on your own speed, the only way to get it going is to let it run for a while, which could be a nice way to end up looking and feeling sick. This is because its actually very similar to the app that I use to track my training regimen.
